Youth Arts Series: Fall Break 2019 Halloween Camp

October 7- 11

Monday-Friday, 8:00AM- 2:00PM

Ages 7-11

Program Description:

The Fall Break session of the Youth Arts Series is presented In Partnership with the UH Hilo Center for Community Engagement (CCE). YAS: Fall Break 2019 will feature a Halloween theme. Students will participate in 4 classes each day throughout the week, all fitting our holiday theme. Through our fun and creative classes, students will learn a variety of art-based processes and techniques including mask making, DIY decorations, monster sculpture, and dance. 

Simultaneously, members of the Hilo and Waiakea High School Art Clubs will be collaborating with local artist advisors and UH Hilo Faculty members to create a haunted house in EHCC’s Annex Building. The second annual YAS Haunted House will open to the public at the conclusion of the program.

Daily Schedule for YAS: Fall Break 

7:30-7:55 drop off period

8:00-9:30 AM- Monster Making

15 minute break

9:45-11:15- Mask Making 

Lunch- 30 minutes

11:45-12:30- Mixed Media 

10 minute break

12:40-1:40- Dance

1:40-2:00- Afternoon Activity*

2:00-2:30 Pick up period

 

*We will end each day with a fun group activity. Activities will include, pumpkin decorating, story time, Halloween themed games and more!

 

Lunch & Snack Time:

There will be a mid-morning snack break, and a slightly longer break for lunch. YAS will provide a healthy snack option each day during the mid-morning break (please be sure to complete the allergy section on page 6). Students will need to bring their own packed lunch from home. YAS is not able to provide lunch meals for the students.

Refund Policy:

Classes may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not met, in the event of which the enrollment fee will be refunded. Membership purchased at the time of registration is non-refundable. Membership will remain valid for one calendar year. 

Refunds requested after September 24 will receive 50% of their enrollment fee back. After October 1, the enrollment fee is non-refundable. 

EHCC is a non-profit organization, all of the money from enrollment fees goes directly into the program to provide supplies and other resources necessary to provide the best experience possible for all of the students.
